The musical drama María de Buenos Aires is considered one of the boldest and most influential creations by the Argentine composer Piazzolla. In this performance, under the baton of Argentine musician Nisinman, numerous domestic and foreign musicians will perform, while the vocal-dramatic roles will be taken on by Chilean-Swedish mezzo-soprano Luciana Mancini as Maria, Argentine tango singer Ruben Peloni as El Payador, and Puerto Rican reciter Daniel Bonilla-Torres as El Duende. As Nisinman stated at today's press conference in Križanke, Maria in this text represents the second birth of Buenos Aires, and is at the same time a symbol of faith and hope.
